I'd like a recipe for cabbage salad! I believe you can always use lemon juice instead of vinegar.

This cabbage salad is delicious. I am sure you can sub purple/red cabbage.

Shredded Cabbage Salad
-1 (16 oz.) bag white shredded cabbage
-2 scallions, thinly sliced
-1/3 cup slivered almonds (toasted in the oven at 450 for a few minutes)
-sesame seeds
Dressing
-3/4 cup boiling water
-1/4 cup sugar
-1/4 cup oil
-1 tsp salt
-1/2 tsp black pepper

Combine boiling water, sugar, oil, salt and black pepper. Set aside to cool.
Arrange shredded cabbage, sliced scallions, toasted slivered almonds, and sesame seeds in a salad bowl. Pour dressing over salad, and toss well to coat.
