I have a car that is no longer running ('04) - I looked into donation programs, they cannot guarantee anything, and are saying that at minimum I'd get a $500 receipt (which would translate to $150 in tax savings I guess).
My husband was saying he will probably get more if he just sells it to someone who buys it for parts.
Anyone know of someone that buys cars for parts in the Monsey area?
Thanks

I don't know anyone who buys cars for parts but if you try to figure out the value of your car on Kelly Blue Book they offer to put you in touch with local dealers who will buy it.
Of course the dealers are going to offer you a lot more than the car is worth to get your interest and then offer you a LOT less after they look at the car.
So for an (04) car that isn't running you probably won't get too much more than $150 from them anyhow.

Try Joe's mechanic on Union Road. They might buy it for parts.
