I'm looking for a new allergist for my baby, preferably in Brooklyn. This child has asthma, eczema, and multiple allergies (food and environmental) among other issues.
A few people have recommended Dr. Edward Gindi but an equal amount of people seem to be upset with him. I've also heard that he makes you buy many creams and is quick to medicate. If anyone was happy with him, please tell me about your experience.
Any other recommendations welcome!

No no no. I got his name from so many people and when I took my baby I was horrified by his manner. Definitely not a person you can talk to or let handle kids. Find another place.

I use Dr jenny shliozberg. She has an OK bedside manner and she is a great Dr who really knows her stuff. Use her for my baby and big kids.

I tried a few allergists over the years and frankly none of them are perfect.... the latest one was Dr. Patel in NYU in Manhattan, his office is on Wall Street... I liked Dr. Marcus in Maimonidese but some people hate him/his bed side manner and he and the Maimonides ENT disagreed twice on my kid's case looking at the same scans so I had to take my kid elsewhere. Dr. Marcus is a pulmonologist too which came in handy, he figured out the cause of my kids chronic bronchitis. He has a long wait for appointments usually. Others I tried where Dr. Gindi, Silverman, Freidman, Sporter Sporter was nice- he is in Manhattan, we saw him for the immunologist end of things- he shares an office with our ENT.

I guess my question is whether it's worth my while to see him just for a diagnosis and if he turns out to be as awful as people say, I'll ho somewhere else for treatment. I really need a doctor who knows what they're doing since my child is really suffering and by extension, our entire family is suffering.

just to run skin testing he is ok. He did test my kid for some extra stuff like checking for fluid in his ear- I thought its not needed if the kid was seeing an ent already and had tubes.....

I heard that Dr Mainardi is excellent, but he’s in the city. Also heard good reviews for dr Norman Klein in Brooklyn but I can’t vouch for either one personally.
