Walk the Freedom Trail, enjoy the harbour (and throw tea into it ), the aquarium, a whale watch tour - amazing, Quincy market ... etc
There is also a Kosher Cafe not far from the harbour - maybe 10 minutes away.

It's walkable, but probably better to take the T, not too far.
Milk Street Cafe (50 Milk Street) is under supervision of Orthodox Rabbinical Council of Greater Boston, R. Nachum Cywiak.

Do you think its worth going to the market? What is there to see? Obviously the restaurants aren't kosher. Street performers only start on the hour. What are the shops like?

note - milk st is closed on the weekends :-(
Really, a brewrey tour at Harpoon is one of our favorite adult things to do. It's only $5 and you get a tour of the whole facility, sample their yummy beer right from the barrels, and then at the end theres a half hour of free drinks at the bar. Just take the silver line. and go back downtown...
Also nearby is the ICA - Institute of Contemporary Art - the art is interesting but I find the building to be the coolest part - the top floor sort of hangs over the water so when you stand in front of the wall of windows it feels like you're hovering over the water...
Other fun things- the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA), the Elizabeth Stuart Gardner Museum (home of the biggest art heist in US history), maybe the Clayroom on Beacon St, walk up and down Harvard Ave (where the kosher restaurants are), or tour Harvard Square and get tea at Peet's coffee and check out their cute book shops...
Walk around downtown, the commons, Copley square, go up to the top of the Prudential building and see the whole city, or walk around Newbury Street and get ice cream at Ben and Jerries or JP licks.
Ahh this is making me miss home!

Where can one park in Boston if coming in by car from tri-state area and planning to go places using public transportation. Some places you can only park for two hours then you have to move your car...

Your best bet may be a quiet street in Brookline near a T stop. PM me for more details if you like.

Uss constitution and tea party museum are both cool.
We went to Sturbridge on a recent trip with kids, but it could be interesting for adults too.

The Isabella Stewart Gardener Museum is my favorite place in Boston. Nothing like it anywhere else in the world.
Another vote for the swan boats!

Besides all the great ideas mentioned above, I really enjoy walking around Harvard Square and Harvard Yard. At night there are often street performs in Harvard Square, who can be fun to watch.
