Do you know of a Williamsburg mikva open during the day officially on erev yom kipur for ladies? Not the night before. TIA

It's a minhag that lots of people do. I never took this on myself. I'm very chasidish. I think most of my community does go.

I skipped several times. Was "too busy". My mother is a busy businesswoman and grandmother but she takes this very serious I dont think she skipped once since her marriage.

Momsrus, it's absolutely not a chiyuv! It's a minhag and I don't go.

Ok it’s in Yiddish. Which answered my original question (if this is a chassidish minhag. It clearly is) I never heard of this machzor (or this minhag) Though I find it fascinating

it seems to be minhag for all especially among chasidim.

According to this the womens mikvah is Baltimore is open erev yom kippur, and I don't think Baltimore has a chasidish community.

It's definitely not chassidish.

My mother's side is Oberlander Hungarian - ie very Ashkenazic, not chassidish at all - and it's a very strong minhag.

My grandmother A"H went well into her 90s and took great efforts to go to the mikvah.

At my mikvah, there are women of many groups-not just chassidish- on erev Yom Kippur.
AFAIK, though, this a minhag and not a chiyuv.

Well, I know for a fact they do have a chasidish community. Just not sure if this minhag is chasidish only
