Where did I say mental illness?

My assumption is that she read "personality issues" as "personality disorders." That's what I thought too.

However most of the ire you're drawing is because of your statement that "unless they had no say, they must have chosen to marry someone impossible which says something about them." You're trying to get out of it but there's just no positive way to construe that. Do you really think anyone says "look, a jerk - let's get married"? "Oh abuse sounds so romantic, sign me up"? And what about married people whose husbands are impossible (yes there are), does that also say something about them - other than that they are either incredibly strong, stuck, or maybe both?

Don't try to justify this. The only way you can get out of it is to realize that you were mistaken and apologize.

And unfortunately there's a lot of overlap between ignorant amothers and ignorant posts on this message board.

There's also a lot of overlap between people who aren't clued in and hijacking/bumping old obsolete threads with a new topic instead of just starting your own new post.

Let me know when we're done judging everyone and I'll stop.
