Where you have a psak, that’s your mitzvah even if it feels wrong to you. Did you know that on Tisha B’Av 1492, the Rabbanim in Spain ordered musicians to play music to encourage the Jews who were being expelled from that country? Here they were going through what was as close to the actual Churban as it was possible to experience, on the darkest day of the Jewish year, and they were ordered to play music!
Don’t be more fanatic than your posek. That’s gaivah, not piety.

I feel bad that this is really a different topic than the op started but basically I don’t think it’s fair to demand that from a nursing mom. She doesn’t have to sacrifice her baby on Yom Kippur. Not everyone is comfortable with giving a baby formula. This is an interesting article in the topic https://www.google.com/amp/s/m...../amp/

Anyways you don’t have to agree with me. I feel strongly about this but respect that other people feel differently

Maybe not all, but many women can breastfeed and fast, and since there's technically the option of pumping ahead and/or using formula, it'd be hard to convince a Rov that breastfeeding is enough to be matir shiurim on YK.
