I've heard there's a kabbalistic idea that just before stepping back at the end of Shemoneh Esrei, to say a pasuk that begins with the first letter in your name and ends with the last letter of your name. How common is this practice? If you have 2 or more names, do you say one pasuk for each name? Anything else I should know about it? If you don't have the practice or don't understand it, please no denigrating - it is the day after Yom Kippur.

Very common. one passuk per name. In bais yaakov the girls are taught to know their passuk. You can find lists of names in a siddur or online. Use your given name , not nickname and make sure you know correct spelling.
Example פייגא or פייגה
Each would be a different passuk.

The ArtScroll siddurim all have the star before the second Yihyu L'Ratzon (after hoshia yemincha v'aneini) to say the passuk, with a reference to the page number in the siddur that has the psukim listed.

Very common, most people do it, yes you say all the psukim for as many names as you have, and they’re listed in back of the siddur.
