I like it to be very soft - looking for a recipe that baked on a low flame for a couple of hours. I don't want a sweet sauce (nor anything with wine).
My roast is 4.5 lb.
TIA

Maybe cook with pickling spices?

Add some chicken broth (or leftover chicken soup) on top of bed of onions and roast, add some garlic, and simmer or cook on low for a long while. Delicious.

Thanks - I got an email alert for this post. That was over 3 years ago. Roast has long been cooked, eaten and digested.....
