Just curious, why is the flight from Israel to NY about 2 hours longer than the flight going?

Because of the directions the winds blow.

Because Hashem wants you to think twice before leaving Eretz Yisrael.

(The scientific reason is as tsc3 stated, because when the plan is flying against the wind it takes longer, vs when the wind is helping speed up the plane in the right direction.)
