Back to tights time.

Which opaque tights have a good control top, and stay up, and feel comfortable?

Just tried the meilas today and was happy. And I’m very hard to please when it comes to black tights

How do they compare to the Levante Bodytones Lux Satin Opaque 60 Denier? These have a very good control top.

Everything I tried this year was terrible. Even the really expensive pairs. I spent a ton of money. Such a waste.
BH tracked down the DKNY super opaque control top 00325 tights, that I wore decades ago, the one with the white package, and we're finally back on track. Now I just need to find more pairs lol.

Where did you buy them, do you have a link?

Got a 3 pack of No Nonsense black opaque control top from Amazon for under $17. Wearing first one today so not sure how it will hold up, but the price is good. So far it's comfortable and fits me well and it looks good too.

A year later, did they last?

I see theyre highly rated and very reasonable on Amazon:

No Nonsense Women's Super-Opaque

https://www.amazon.com/No-Nons.....psc=1

The Control Top part looks very sheer in the photo so I assume they dont control all that much.

If youre familiar with Levante Opaque tights, how do they compare?

Century 21 sells them for half Amazon's price. They have two kinds; one is 40 denier with no control top and the one I bought was 60 denier with control top (called super opaque). The ankle is thick too, so you need to pull taught over your foot before you pull the tights up your legs, if you have thin ankles.

Thanks! I located the size chart on Bloomingdales.com

https://www.bloomingdales.com/.....66388

SIZE HEIGHT (in) WEIGHT (LB)
1 4'11"- 5'6" 100-150
2 5'3"-6'0" 120-170
3 5'2"-6'0" 165-200
4 5'2"-6'0" 155-180
5 5'2"-6'0" 255-300

Does this mean anyone under 5' 6" and 150 pounds, should get size 1?

And this is weird, on Century they offer small medium and tall, with no size chart to clarify (and no number sizes) for tights by the identical name. I assume Century has these tights made for them, perhaps slightly differently.

If you don't need a brand name Target sells good quality cheap tights. The brand was formerly called Merona, now it is New Day.

They run full. Sizes go by small, medium like Amazon shows. For 5'6" and 125 lbs go small. For 5'6" and 150 lbs go medium.

I used to buy the Levante Control Top Opaque tights in the blue package, but they ripped after a few wears and cost about $15 a pr now.

Then I stocked up on DKNY in Century.

I love the DKNY opaque tights for the first few wears, because they have been super as far as never ripping or running, but theyre not feeling that great because of "pilling". After 2-3 washes theyre no longer smooth feeling. Theyre durable as iron, but pimply feeling.

Does anyone have any other recommendations for super strong control top opaque tights that arent crazy expensive?

I never wore DKNY tights, so I cannot compare control top, but I love the MeMoi brand black tights. I buy them at local hosiery stores and they are super comfy and last a solid 2 years.

I have been wearing the DKNY tights for more than 15 years. Many pairs have lasted multiple winters. I dont think I have ever had a pair get pilly.
I find them at Marshalls in the beginning of the season. But seriously only need to buy a 2 pack each year because they last so long.

Melas shaper. So so good. I am always thrilled once it is cold enough to wear black tights again.

I hate the control top
Why is it there?!
I feel like I can’t breathe or eat properly
Even if I wear a large or queen size (the legs tend to roll...)
Maternity tights are much more comfier to my stomach lol.

I bought a few pairs on Erev Yom tov and they run huge! Now I'm stuck with the pairs since the store is now closed due to COVID. I hope they'll take back the unworn pairs with no issues when they reopen. They're also more expensive that what I usually buy. Due to it being last minute, I was forced to buy something else since the store didn't carry what I wanted.

This is what I usually buy:

Inexpensive and lasts nicely.
