Anyone feel like they can spend all day putting the baby to sleep? I have a newborn and a toddler and I'm losing my mind with my newborns sleeping schedule, I can spend all day putting her to sleep so I have no time to breathe or take care of my house

Yupppp
Baby is 3m now so I'm allowing myself to let the ball drop a little during crazy yt. But I tell myself it's otherwise literally child abuse. My babies can stay awake and alert for hours and the whole family will pass them around (really it's overtired ness ) so I must be on top of making sure they get their naps. As far as I'm concerned the baby shouldn't even come out of the bedroom. By the time we are done nursing and diapering it's been an hour and baby is yawning and needs to go back to sleep. Seriously. This is their job now.

IS baby overtired? Is that why it’s hard to settle her? Make sure she’s not not awake for more than 1.5-2 hours at a time.

as a new mom, at what age can a baby stay awake for more than 2 hours?

My baby is 2 months old and does not sleep by day! From when he was born! I'm losing my mind, I'm literally putting him to sleep all day.

I would say somewhere between 6-9 mos. Depends on the baby. But no, not before!

She's not even overtired. She's calm and drifting off but fights sleep for so long. She sometimes will put herself to sleep without rocking or patting or anything but then wakes up after 40 mins and no amount of anything will get her to sleep again. It's a crazy life

That is why I gave the whole schedule thing up.
I nurse on demand, as often as demanded. Let them nap on me or wherever I can put them down. And only really "enforce" nighttime sleep. It's hard enough to be chained to the couch, I'd never survive being chained to a quiet room.
They seem to have turned out okay B"H.

Every baby is different. Some need more sleep, some need less.
Like adults.

never heard of putting newborns on a schedule... you kind of feed them as needed. I only try to minimize contact at night and dont open lights etc. but during day, they r way too young
