Let’s say your family isn’t home do you still eat in the sukkah?

No. Even if they are home, the women don't always eat in the sukka.

I eat the YT meals with the family in there. Not when I want to eat something myself.

When I was younger, I ONLY ate or drank in the Sukkah.

When I had more kids, it got harder. I try to eat at least once in the sukkah every day to make the bracha, and if I can will try to eat my mezonos there, but otherwise won't.

I eat family meals in the succah, but not if I'm just grabbing something on my own.

Family meals yes.
If I grab a snack myself - no

Part of our succah isn’t kosher so if necessary I sit there. But I prefer not to.

We really try to always eat in the suka, male or female, together or alone.
This is the way I grew up.

Yes and no. When I remember it's sukkos and it's an extra mitvah/convince myself to go out in the heat - then yes. I'd say I do it half the time probably...

In my family we know we don't have to but it's kinda like okay, but why not? I don't HAVE to say hallel either. I don't HAVE to go to shul on rosh hashana and yom kippur...

YES!!! If my family is not home I eat in the sukkah and enjoy the quiet.

The problem is that I don't have an outlet in the sukkah, so I can't work there, and going down a few flights with all the kids (can't leave them at home by themselves) is such a pain. Yesterday I did it, but I didn't get to eat in the sukkah - only they did.

Yes, when I can. I'm always sad when I have to take my little succah down.

The thing is, we've had super hot and humid weather, so it's like a sauna during the day. At night we've had rain, and when we didn't have rain we've had mosquitoes, and I don't have an outlet for a light in the succah. The porch light on my mirpesset is very soft and doesn't really help much.

I'd love to grab a coffee, a pastry, a good book, and enjoy the succah all day long, but the weather is just not cooperating. I have managed to get a couple of meals in, though.

I always did growing up. It was a big thing for me, and I didn't understand how my friends didn't. Then I spent part of my first sukkah in an apartment without one, and going down the block was a pain. And then I had kids. And it was really hard to go out to eat when the baby finally fell asleep in the crib and the toddler was playing nicely or someone was doing homework. And gradually, I just learned not to, except when everyone else is there. Maybe if nobody has a chance of needing me.
