How do people make it through chag not doing any laundry? The kids needed 2-3 outfits for the first days. Now they need for shabbos, plus another two day. My kids don’t have that many outfits, and neither do I!! I think I’m going to cheat tomorrow when my husband goes out....

You can definitely do laundry for kids. My kids don’t have enough otherwise.

I pull it off for myself, but I’m running low on shells...

It’s not cheating. You are allowed to wash clothes for kids.

I was really talking about myself. As I said, I really don’t have enough either.

For everyone? Or just for the kids? I will for sure be doing laundry for the kids, and I will also be adding in things for myself. I need to find a rabbi who will convince my husband that I can do laundry for everyone LOL

I don’t do any laundry. My kids are older so maybe that’s why. We all have a lot of clothes. I also just don’t want to look at the washing machine or dryer, much less use them lol.

My understanding is that so long as you are doing laundry for the kids, which is allowed as needed, you may add things to the wash. On chol hamoed the concern is doing melacha; once you are doing it anyway, you can add adult clothing. (Whereas in the 9 days when you can also wash clothes for kids when needed the concern is the clean clothes, which would not be allowed for adults so you cannot just add. I used to confuse the two until I got it in my head like this)

Does anyone here use reusable pads? Do they count like peed on sheets? I just stuffed 2 into the washer together with a black load (not going to wash them with anything lighter) and wondering if that was okay.

But they are so much grosser than peed on sheets. I would much rather leave my kid's peed on sheets for three days than leave a gross pad filled with blood (tmi) for three days.

I wash my kids' clothes.
I buy new shells and tights if needed (better to buy than to wash. Obviously if it's out of budget, then wash)
