This is my thread:
https://www.imamother.com/foru.....70684

We have an appt at her pediatrician to rule out physical problems. She's developed bad stomachaches lately also. It does not seem to be coming from any single traumatic event or specific trigger foods. Before we go to therapy she asked me to find out if there's a book that can help her.

Can anyone recommend one? TIA

I've heard people say they like this one. The fear fix by Sarah Chana Radcliffe is also supposed to be amazing, but more for you as a parent.

But to be honest, books and therapy, while helpful, will probably be a bandaid at this point. From the OP in your link this sounds very much like pandas. I urge you to have her evaluated by a *pandas knowledgeable doctor*. Pandas is complex, and a clinical diagnosis, which means there are no blood tests that can definitively rule it in or out, the diagnosis is based solely on symptoms, and most pediatricians have no idea how to diagnose this. If I were you, I would walk into an urgent care, say she had a sore throat, and ask for a throat swab and culture. Chances are she will come back positive, and you can start abx. I would bet my bottom dollar you will see her fears abate very very quickly, and you can bring this information to her pediatrician when you go for the workup. Alternately, you can do the ibuprophen test at home, dosing ibuprophen around the clock for 3 days and checking for improvement. If you see improvement, that tells you there's a inflammatory piece to her anxiety. Keep in mind, even if the ibu doesn't work, that doesn't mean it's not pandas.

The Worry Worm - dealing with anxiety from a perspective of emunah. Lovely book by a lovely rabbi. https://www.breslev.co.il/stor.....glish It might be a bit young for her, but it gets the point across in a way that's easy to understand.

If she's more mature, "The Garden of Emunah" is a good one, too.

This book for both parents and children is extremely good. https://www.bookdepository.com.....D_BwE
You can go through the exercises together.

Thank you!
I bought the one you linked as well as the version for older kids. From the reviews it seems like these books are what we need. I'm also taking her to Urgent Care tonight for a throat culture.
