Moving from Lakewood to TR is VERY different than coming from Bklyn.
Coming from Lkwd, it's the same place, just a drop farther out. Moving from Bklyn means that everything is new (Doctors, schools, govt programs, stores, etc.)

I’m not trying to compare TR to BP in a negative manner.
I know some very nice people who moved there.
It just had a BP vibe to me-I can’t explain it.
Maybe it was the specific area I was driving around in.

Genuinely curious- how do you get a vibe from driving around? Most people aren't even outdoors. Unless you're referring to development like places like Hickory Pines.

I did drive past Hickory Pines as well as other areas.
Do the families living there not represent the type of crowd that moved there?

It was on a Sunday, so we did see a few people entering cars.
And I do know quite a few families who moved there from BP, so I'm also basing my impression off of that.
I may be wrong-this was my impression.

Hickory Pines is quite chassidish. Short wigs, covered wigs, men with vasse zuken. Of course not everybody there but many.
The streets closer to Belz area also have more chassidish looking people. (Donna Dee, Crystal Mile etc...)
Other areas of Toms River are less chassidish levush wise. Lots of families from chassidish background but not necessarily wearing levush.
