Hi all,

I have 8 steps up to my house. Will I hate carrying the doona up and down? Is it better for me to get a car seat that weights half that, so I can carry the car seat down the steps and into the car (and bring the lightweight snap
N go attachment separately when needed)?

I have about 20 stairs in front of my house and I don’t have trouble carrying the doona up and down the stairs with the baby in it. I’m not particularly strong or big.

If it’s too heavy for me I sometimes just bump it but there is a chance you can wake up your baby

I don’t get it. Leave it in the car. It’s a car seat.

if the baby is sleeping I bring the car seat inside so baby can sleep a little bit more. Also, I need to bring the car seat inside so baby has a safe place to be right away, while I bring in the other kids/packages. Otherwise I have to go find my stroller or another safe place...
Also in winter I like to bundle baby, put baby in car seat, then put directly in car so I'm not standing there buckling the baby in while it's freezing cold.

I thought babies weren’t supposed to be bundled under their car seat straps, just over. So they’re not supped to be bundled at al, but that may be beside the point.

A typical snap n go might suit your particular needs. Leave the base in the car, just take me car seat and infant inside (as needed). And of course leave the wheels in the trunk to use when you’re out and about.

Much cheaper too

I put blankets on top of the car seat. Not underneath.

Difference in price would be around $150- it's not that huge a difference.

Snap n go on amazon is $75
Doona is $500
How is that a $150 price difference

I would go with Chicco probably. Chicco Shuttle snap n go is $119, Chicco keyfit Air Zip is $229. (They'll probably have Black Friday deals though)
