Must I peel the potatoes?

If I use the yukon gold variety of potatoes and I wash them really well do I have to peel them? afterall, when I roast them I don't peel them.

My mother doesn't peel her Yukon gold potatoes for kugel.

It’s fine. It’s recommended, even, to retain fiber and vitamins.
