Every single one I've bought just refuses to dry, bubbles, never gets opaque, even if all the other colors from that brand were good. Is there any brand that actually has a good one?
ETA:
It's 2023, and Sally Hansen Insta Dry wins.

That's my favorite color too, but I find it is hard to find in salons.

My favorite too. I own a bottle that I bring with me. In theory also so that I can touch up my own nails, but I never seem to actually get around to doing so.

A lot of nudes are sheer, not opaque.

Very true. Sometimes an extra coat helps. I use 3 coats of the Essie mademoiselle (plus base and top).

One coat of Wet N Wild Lo Soy lasts a week for me. It's 99 cents at RiteAid. I usually use a topcoat, but it's not necessary with this nail polish. |
That one didn't work for me. Do you think the particular bottle I used was just a dud?

My favorite nude is OPI Samoan Sand. But it is sheer.

But sheer polishes are supposed to be smooth. I meant to write that they go on streaky.

What's the point
I never understood the expenses and potchka if you don't have a nice color to look at

Yes, they're supposed to be smooth. You mentioned bubbles. That's usually old/thick polish, putting on too thick coats, or nails not clean (lawsy use nail polish remover before doing nails, even if there's no polish on them).
If the polish is streaky, try a ridge-filling base coat.

But other polishes from the same store and the same brand work fine.

OP its interesting, ive noticed that when I do my nails myself, I can only apply opaque colors (I use essie). Whenever I try a sheer color ot streaks. I find the consistancy of the polilsh is a bit different and more difficut to apply.

I apply sally Hansen clear polish all the time and I love the clean fresh look and it lasts nicely. and even if it peels a drop others don't notice. that's the benefit of clear polish.

Clear polish defeats the purpose for me. I often do like a little shine or color, but for everyday, I would want a nude polish (either sheer or opaque, but enough to provide some coverage) for the same reason that I wear foundation on my face.

have you tried:
topless and barefoot
wild nude
perennial chic
they're all different but I think they'd all go in the nude family.
