Do you know if they are reasonable prices or not?

I wouldn't make a dress from scratch at Henry's.

Last time I used bella(t russian) was over 5 yrs ago and then she was reasonably priced.
Udi ( chinese) sewed a couple of tops and skirts , not a gown. But I think she is reasonable.

We've been very happy with Henry, and the prices are much better than anywhere else.

Bella does an amazing job and is reasonably priced for gowns. She sewed up for me a few years ago. Her place is called simply gorgeous:
718 851-3532
1310 41st

She’s very professional and can copy anything.

Thanks. Do u have a picture of the dress she did? How much did she charge? Did you bring her the fabric? Any recommendations for a good fabric place?

Many people use Katz's Fabrics on New Utrecht and 46th. They're expensive, though.

I don’t have a pic of the dress she made. She had it hanging for a good few years on her Board on the wall, I think it might have been taken down already. She sews up her own gowns to sell or rent and I spotted one that I loved for a siblings wedding, only the gown was black and our color scheme was blue. She resewed it for me in my colors and she bought the fabric herself. She’ll know which fabrics work well for which styles and can help guide you. She’s an expert. Even for the tailoring she does on any mending she makes the dress look like it came that way and you’d never guess it was altered or added fabrics. I see many Pple coming with their own ideas what to sew and she also gives her imput.

I don’t recall exactly the pricing. I’m not sure if it was $400 to rent a brand new gown she sewed and if you want to keep it then it’s $500 and $300 for just renting something already worn. These were the prices many years ago, I wouldn’t know if it changed since. I’d assume the styling of the dress would also effect the price.

Good luck!
