The mountain buggy duet is very narrow and fits through all doors. It is also really heavy and big folded-if you're going in and out of cars, it's not easy. I'm not sure if I would buy another double, whether I'd want to get it again. It was great for what I needed, don't get me wrong.
Have you looked at the new city mini?-they recently brought out the city tour in a double that looks really nice. It's also much narrower than the old city mini double and will be small and easy to fold.

Mountain buggy duet is not a heavy carriage at all! I absolutely love it. I've had the Citi mini and #1 it can start rolling on its own- I've seen this by others too not only by me, #2 it tips easily. Mountain buggy wheels extremely easy. Very lightweight. Doesn't fold the best that I agree but not terrible either. I'd suggest going into a store and seeing both for yourself.

I have the baby monster, great push, very thin, heavy when folded though, easy fold to. Not sure how durable it is since I only had it a few months so far
