I was confused last week as to why they went digging there in the first place. If he was hiding the stones from Scotty he would have to have hidden them before they'd found him. So why did they go through all of that to dig and dig in the spot that he'd died?
She said as much afterward, but I don't get why they went there at all.

maybe when the dust will settle he'll ask his wife what that meant and her secret will finally come out?

I'm taking bets on how many more weeks it will take for them to actually find the Eyes.
Anyone want to guess?
(After all, Gella's labor took 4 weeks, at least)

Was so excited to get my Binah late last night and the first thing I turned to was of course Happiness Cipher! Wowowowowowow! What a powerful entry this was! Now what....Etka Gittel, you have us sitting at the edge of our chairs every week! Keep it coming! Amazing!
And I patted myself on the back for being right about "Hunt"!

All I'm thinking is "NO FAIR"
At least give them some time to sort out emotions. But no. Things had to speed up just then.
Aaaaaaaaaargh!
(kudos to you Chaya123 for catching that hint )

LOVE LOVE LOVE it!
I guess Creswall will not reveal that Birdie is not Beile??
Just curious how realistic it is. How can you possibly draw a landscape of vast miles of land and pinpoint the exact location?
I guess I'm just over analyzing.

Also very pleased with myself about guessing about 'hunt'.
But EGS; seriously? That cliff-hanger ending must be the biggest cliché in suspense writing ever!

Hunt = dog = animal that digs holes.
Eh, that was a GREAT cliffhanger. We've had much worse than that.

This was the best chapter ever!!
I love the way Birdie just blurted out her secret. So different from the usual story line, where they would typically sit down and have a long emotional conversation.
I feel like they all need a great big hug and emotional TLC.
Does anyone else think it's sad that they were so out of touch with their feelings and emotions back then??

"Back then?" You know many people today who are as emotionally attuned as Birdie? And the guys seem like guys to me.

I agree that Birdie is extra extra emotionally attuned.
But I feel like everyone else is just stumbling along in the darkness drowning in their own mixed up feelings.
I just feel so bad for them.

Spoilers for this week!
I'm so confused!
Where did the diamonds go off to?
The horses took off with them without Cob?
Did Jamie steal them out of Cob's hands?
He's chasing after the horses to get them?
How did he trust that the horses would get to their destination?
I'm just not understanding this part.
And we still don't know Beile's real name.
Also, I'm a little disappointed that this the payoff we get for Birdie keeping this secret for so long; I want to see them talk it through. I'm sure it'll come in a later chapter.
When Jamie shot with his rifile I was sure Leo and / or Morrie were dead.
So relieved. Yikes.

No, Jamie held onto the diamonds but had them send home the horses so they couldn't follow him.
Horses know their way home, apparently.
Yes scary with the gun but I agree with James that it was ludicrous for Morrie to ask for "his word."

I'm just so curious to know who Birdie really is and how old she is.
Is she a 40 year old spinster?? What's her background?

I also want to know if we're going to hear more about Morrie's alleged love interest. Who doesn't love him?
It's getting so sad. But we must be getting close to the resolution.

I love Morrie's character! I hope Etka Gittel doesn't spoil it for me with some deep, dark, sinister revelation..

So now what??? Harry seems might MAD and understandably so and Birdie insists on following him along afraid of losing him... Will she be his savior somehow and they'll live happily ever after?
It's emotional to see Leo slowly coming back to life with Morrie's prodding.
Let's wait and see...
