He says he sees cristian signs and he thinks how do I know cristian isn’t the true religion. How do I explain to him. Anyone know of a kids speech or story to listen to for him.

I was like that too. What helped was letting go of the need to know.

Not everyone can let go of the need to know.
And besides, that’s a good way to convince these kids that it isn’t true.

I suggest you search these topics on aish, chabad etc and print the articles on this topic. And YouTube also has some good talks on this, if you’d be ok with him watching them.
If you’d like, I can search to see if I saved some links on YouTube.

He needs a frum therapist.
If it's stemming from OCD it needs to be dealt with more professionally; not by reading cute stories.
Having OCD express itself in religious structure and life is very common.

I think this is a good idea for a child who will likely accept everything they say. This might not work with an older person who might ask why are there so many really smart people who don't believe this is true and believe the bible is a man made book? If they start to research this, it is an endless pit of confusion and uncertainty. In the end we believe because we choose to, not because it really makes perfect sense.

It's OCD. No explanation in the world will help. Don't address the topic. Address the OCD. The more you explain, the more you strengthen the OCD.

First figure out of the question is a manifestation of the ocd or an ordinary desire to know. Many people without ocd have the same question.

He's a minor; doesn't really have a choice.
Also why doesn't he want to go back? There's an issue here. He doesn't see how it's benefiting him?
Does he understand he has a mental disorder and it needs constantly monitored for the rest of his life?

I have symptomw ocd
Can’t say what to do-I’m no professional-but after you decide what to do -as a by the way -I would add-
“Lech lcha”-why did Avraham decide to crown Hashem when no one did!no one!why he come up such craz idea?
First he thought was moon,
Then getchkes.....
Obviously he saw was Hashem ...
OCD ppl are down to earth & need logic.black & white .
I’d definitely try getting in touch with Rabbi Yy....
As a side point ,it’s VERY important to stress that e/t that goes well -say Thanu you Hashem out loud ,so child feels the love from Hashem
Hatslacha & reading the book enegram-he’s a type 1 ,can help you understand him

As a parent of a child with OCD, answering questions won't ever help. It will only intensify the OCD. If you can not get the child to go to therapy (which I can totally relate to,) then you should go yourself to learn how to interact with the child so that you are not reinforcing the OCD. Good luck!

Ocd in children is almost always pandas or pans. Treat the infection, reduce inflammation, heal his brain and watch his questions melt away.

How can you be certain that the question is just OCD? It's a pretty common question.

If he has ocd then treat it. If you want to know how others would answer, this is mine:
There is no 100% solid proof. If there were, the whole world would follow and our schar would be like after mashiach. We must take that little leap from 99 to 100.
It's easier to prove the 99% backwards. Can you think of any logical reason a ever hated miniscule group of people can actually still exsist when every generation they are tried to be wiped out? All great huge nations disappeared how can this tiny group still live? We should have been extinct by now but we're not. Why are we even known? Most other groups our size no one has ever heard their name yet we are front page news daily. It's against all logic and nature we exsist.

Thank you everyone for your reply’s. Beige, honestly this child has it since he was 6/7- where at that age I had no idea want pandas was. I have another child with pandas and my doctors pa pushed me to get this child checked for pandas. I did go to someone who felt it was pandas and we did a month of antibiotics and vitamins but there was no Change, so we stopped it all. Any other advice. His blood work now was ok, so I can’t be sure it’s pandas. But I wish I can treat the problem and not just put a band aid on it.

I have a (non jewish) friend with 2 children with ocd. One year, my friends brother asked her to keep a kitten in her house until xmas as it was a surprise gift for his dd. My friend is allergic to cat but reluctantly agreed and took allergy medication while they had the cat.
My friend noticed that her child who had just started showing symptoms of ocd stopped showing signs at all, and the one woth the full fledged ocd had her symptoms majorly reduced.
After the kitten was removed, my friend decided that she would get a cat for her kids sake. (she researched and found the kind that is less problematic for allergies).
Would you be willing to try that?

His blood work now was ok, so I can’t be sure it’s pandas. But I wish I can treat the problem and not just put a band aid on it. | If you have another child with pandas I can almost guarantee you this is what it is. Fwiw, pandas is a clinical diagnosis, it is not diagnosed based on any bloodwork or other testing, so bloodwork can't rule pandas in or out. That said, usually something will show up in the bloodwork if you know what to look for. I would advise you to see a pandas specialist who will run a lot of testing. For starters, you'll want to be looking at a lot of different infections, not just strep. Such as mycoplasma pneumonia, lyme and all coinfections, hhv6, coxsackie, ebv, cmv, those are the common ones. Keep in mind once again that no evidence of infections doesn't mean it's not pandas. What antibiotics did you try? You might need a different type of antibiotics. Or maybe your main triggers are viral, so you'd need an antiviral as antibiotics won't touch viruses. Allergies can also be a trigger so it's good to test for those. You might need longer than a month, you might need more invasive treatments like ivig. In my experience ocd, especially if untreated for a while, can linger for a while and take a good few months into treatment to see a change.
