Ever read an acronym and think it’s one thing and it’s another, but you are totally off base? I don’t mean like I used to think LOL was laugh a lot. Yes, I do realize now wrong letter. Every time I see BM, I think bowel movement. I opened up the recent thread about a BM because I couldn’t figure out what the poster wanted for the life of me with just the subject line.

Ah. Yes it would.

I've actually started using ima-acronyms with some friends, once I explain them, it makes sense

My friend's teenage sister recently told her mom that AF meant absolutely fantastic. And she totally believed her.

She was using it all over for like a week until her daughter told her it was a joke and what it really meant. LOL

SN caps is usually special needs; sn lowercase is usually screen name.

Not always, but often.

AF is internet slang for as F*ck

Used as an emphasis such as "I'm excited AF for the party Saturday night"

As expletive, it's an intensifier.

Generally you can find the definition of any acronym by googling it together with internet acronym. If you leave out the word internet you will often get dozens of definitions but if you include it you'll only get those that are typical net-speak.

When I was in camp, DH meant division head, so you can imagine my confusion when I joined this site and everyone was talking about their division heads.

People use it in speech too. Not just on the internet.
But in speech people say as f*ck not AF.
