I liked the bucket list thread earlier and I was wondering what people have already successfully checked off. I don't want this to turn into a place to brag so I think it'd be best for people to stay away from general accomplishments and stick to real "Bucket List" items, unless of course they're one and the same for you.

I'll start: embarrassingly close to my 40th birthday I FINALLY got my driver's license. I've felt awful about not driving for my entire adult life but for some reason I could never bring myself to go through with it. Women driving is not a cultural taboo or anything like that where I live, I think I was just too afraid of failure. But I had 4 kids and a husband who didn't drive and it was getting impossible to be without a car so I sucked it up and got it!

Your turn!

Shopping at the shuk for ingredients to cook with! Made aliyah, then took a few day staycation in Yerushalayim before the crazy set in. Went to the shuk before we went home and cooked for Shabbat with the produce. Was a highlight of my life!

Otherwise my bucket list is fairly unattainable.

I also don’t want to post under my name, but some of the things I’ve accomplished weren’t on my bucket list per se until after I accomplished them, at which point I looked back and thought wow, I can’t believe I got to do that in my lifetime!

Is there a way for me to relocate this thread so it's anon enabled? It was not my intention to make anyone uncomfortable.

Report your OP and ask a mod to move it to an anon-enabled forum

I know a lot of people don't drive (my husband being one of them), but everyone in my family and all of my close friends all drive, so I felt odd and left behind. The embarrassment aspect was mostly because I relied on others to drive for me when necessary, and I felt awful imposing on them. And I felt bad for my family because my kids suffered. We couldn't take fun easy trips and if we did want to go anywhere, it required long hours of complicated travel via public transportation. Now that I do drive, I really see how much it hindered my family, and how much we've missed out on, and I feel bad because it didn't have to be this way.
