We are in desperate need of strategies to help DD talk less.
DD age 6, in 1st grade, never stops talking, pretty much since she said her first word. At home it is annoying sometimes, but not a serious problem. But her teacher at school said that DD's talking is interfering with the lessons, and DD is also not completing her work in class because she is too busy talking to the other girls.
The teacher said DD is clearly very bright and knows what is being taught and does well on the classwork she does complete when she isn't talking. But she just won't stop talking. The teacher can't stop to discipline her every 3 minutes, because that is just as disruptive to the class, and it is clear this is a broader problem and not just limited to classroom misbehavior.
Last year in kindergarten (after she had already turned 6), we took her to the neurologist for unrelated issues and I asked about ADHD - but her kindergarten teacher didn't think she has any signs of ADHD and neither does my husband (or anyone else). So I am not sure if that is the issue.
Any ideas or suggestions for ideas of how to help her regulate her talking would be very helpful. Thanks!!

My DD is the same age and also talks incessantly, but we do have ADHD in the family, so that's always a possibility. B"H it does not affect her in school, so I don't have any advice, just sympathy and empathy!
