Which neighborhood in the city?
If it's in lower Manhattan (near WTC) I like Milk n Honey at 160 Broadway.
On the Upper West side (not far from Central Park) is My Most Favorite Food.

While it looks like the bagels are kosher (tablet k) Ess a bagel served treif food in their restaurant so it’s most definitely not a kosher brunch place

Awww, I appreciate that!
I was going to put some sort of disclaimer about both recommendations that I'm not sure who gives the kashrus certification but I wasn't sure how to word it or if it would somehow imply that I don't trust them.
It's definitely important to check hashgacha on your own, esp now with all those vegan places getting the International Kosher Council certification.
