Honestly, I think the person posting the simcha doesn't always know the kallahs name. That's all. It's not a frumkeit thing.

Yes and I've also seen some that write "lucky chassan" or "chassan whatever."

But I think this happens on a much larger scale than just a few people who don't know the other side's name.

Was Arpachshad important? Was Eber? The Torah mentions plenty of men that are unnecessary to the story, bring nothing more than a lineage to the story, and yet women aren't mentioned. Do we know who Rivka's mother was?

What about "ubnai baiso" on an invitation? I just got one that had that had that.

Um who carried this bm boy for 9 months, gave birth to him, changed his diapers, woke up in middle of the night and fed and raised him for 13 years? I guess "bnai baiso."

I've seen "and wife" on old invites
I've seen names on charedi invitations
My dh's grandmother (ss) was refered to as "mrs widow"
I want either john and jane doe, or mr and mrs doe, and this is what I do

Yes - important early history who is descended from who, how we count the generations, where each of the other characters fits in. They are important for background and geneology/ lineage.

We know who Rivka's nurse was. Because she was important.
