He pushed away the gun barrel pointed at him and ran out. It was nothing short of a miracle..
In an interview he said they were shooting after him and that’s why he ran zig zag

U could see from the video how the gun is being pointed after him through the glass and little sparks from the shots.
Also the mayor tweeted, as we all initially feared that the children were the targets, R’L. If u look closely you can see the Gunman first walking to the left and then moving back over to the store.

Imagine the boy leaving two minutes earlier to the cheder
A woman was going to the grocery. She saw that it’s raining so went back home.
A delivery guy had to deliver groceries at that time. The owner told him it wasn’t a good time to come.
More stories keep emerging.

Imagine the boy getting there a few seconds earlier and getting the door to the cheder open as the gun men got there!

This entire "imagine" thing is not normal IMO. "Imagine if the car would have blown up with the perps inside and nothing would have happened." "Imagine x, y, z..." It's not based in reality.

It is. Everything happens at the precise moment hashem intends it to happen. Imagine if the boy was about to leave and he had to use the bathroom. The mom is all frustrated why he isn’t leaving yet and yells why he can’t use the bathroom in the yeshiva. He finally leaves etc...

Everything in REALITY happens at the exact moment Hashem wanted it to happen. The imaginary what ifs are so far away from reality that they take away from the actual hashgucha that happens every second of every minute of everyday (not to mention that you could use them in the other direction such as the shooters car blowing up and killing them before getting to the grocery store or what if the store had been closed, etc.). Just live in reality without imagining what ifs. Hashem's greatness is great enough without creating other endings or possibilities of what could have (and would never) have happened.

What I am saying is that everything happens for a reason. Even all little stuff that can seem like aggravations. If we look closely enough we will see that we have to thank hashem for them.

So that is saying something like BH the boy is fine. BH the delivery man was not there. Not imaginary "what if he would have been there 2 minutes earlier or what if etc.." Every second of every minute of every hour of every day etc is hashgucha and we can thank Hashem for that without creating negative endings to justify the hasgacha that is already there.

It's about hakoras hatov. Recognizing how close one was to danger, helps us have a greater appreciation for Hashem's chesed (although it's hard to focus on that now)

The worker who was killed apparently saved the other Deutsch's life (the cousin who escaped). He held open the door for him to leave first.

Is there any fundraiser set up for his family?

Yes. Someone posted a link on a thread, but I can't find it. It's a gofundme fund if you want to search for it.
