Anyone ever turn a full wig to hat fall. I have a really old wig.
Is it enough to cut off the bangs.
When I put on the hat it pulls the whole wig back. It looks great but isn’t so comfortable because it’s on wrong.
Trying to figure out cheapest easiest way to do this.

I once brought an old wig to a wig repair place and for $30 they removed the front hair for a hat fall. They pulled it out and when I asked about doing it another way, they said to remove part of net and replace is expensive, which I didn't want to do.
It's a lot of work but I'm sure you can do it yourself.

Can I just cut the wig above the top weft. Like to create an extension piece and topper piece. Then sew the extension piece to a new cap from amazon?
Or can I just cut off all the hair on the cap above the top weft.
I’m trying to figure out why it’s so complicated.

Or can I just cut the skin part off the wig cap with attached hair?

Yes. Use a seam ripper and be very gentle. You can add a little piece of material to replace it if you feel it needs it. I used a piece of this.

I’m glad to hear someone else tried this. I think I’m going to do it.

So far so good. Cutting off the skin top got me almost my goal and looks much better with a hat.
But how do I get rid of the bangs sewn into the very front.
I’m scared it I cut them just short I’ll end up with weird pieces sticking out.
Is there a trick to removing them?

I didn't have bangs. But maybe you can use the seam ripper to one by one undo the knots of each hair?
