I purchased a piece of furniture from target.
On the box there is a label with a P65 warning.
It says the product can expose you to chemicals know to the state of California that can cause cancer, birth defects...
is this something that they put on all their furniture as a precaution to always cover themselves?
Should I be nervous and return?
I would love to keep it but not if it can c’v cause harm. Unless the chances are so so so tiny.
What are your thoughts?

I’ve seen this warning from the state of California on many things. Apparently they are required to put this warning on various items so at this point I’m no longer scared when I see it. It’s on my George Foreman grill, a flower pot we have, sons shaver, a CD player...
And yes, the first time I noticed this warning was when I was pregnant and cooking with my George Foreman grill. I panicked back then until I started seeing this warning all over...

In California you will see this warning wherever you go. In all stores for most products. I even saw such a warning on the tarmac before boarding a plane.

Toilet paper too...a friend sent me a picture she took of a shelf holding toilet paper at a store with a prop 65 warning on it. Basically companies and stores have to warn the public if the items they sell or the location could expose them to one of the "listed potential toxins". Or to avoid having to figure that out stores just post generic signs so everyone there ignores them. It means nothing really- because everything has the warning the warning has little value.
