BDE and I am sorry for your loss. May you not know from any more tzaar. When we went to order the matzeivos for our parents, the owner of the store was very helpful. We told him what we wanted to say and he had someone write it up for us in Hebrew.

When my father died, a very chashuv and talented family acquaintance wrote the matzeivah, as an acronym of the name, in a rhyme. I think he asked my mother what middos and messages she wanted out to convey, not sure. Maybe just thought of it himself.I

The text was emailed to me (I was young, but the oldest child, and with a good grasp of Hebrew) and looked over by one of my brothers, too (also, good with Hebrew), and we made some minor changes and approved it.I

Maybe someone can help you with it?

the very basics are:
write . תנצבה It's an acronym for " .May his soul be bound in the bundle of life‏‏‏‏"

Esther bat so-and-so and last name
date of birth/death

you can add a pasuk from eishet chayil or something else that speaks to her personality or acheivements.
you can add her husband's name
you can add beloved mother/grandmother.sister/etc

I came to say the same! You have a year. A month would have been very short for us.
On my granmother they put always with us in Ladino.
I've seen things for Shoah survivors
Put at least Jewish name and parent jewish name (generally father some do both, some do neither though it's minhag)
Bundle of life
dates
Family who passed without a grave in the war

Its not halacha, but in Israel the standard practice is to have the matzeivah up by the shloshim.

I can't add anything to asking the person who will do the matzeivah, and a rav. Besides this: HaMakom yenachem eschem bsoch aveilei Tziyon VYrushalayim and may you be given Siyata Dishmaya in performing this kavod acharon. And remember that every day living as a servant of Hashem, and making His name beloved through your actions, is also a kavod for her.
