I want to buy a new wig. I see lots of flat, lace top, no bangs straight wigs. Not too many people actually look pretty in that style! And don’t think that’s what I want. What other updated looks are in? I hear layers is totally out. What about blunt straight with bangs? Any suggestions? Links or pictures would be helpful.
Not looking to spend too much either.

I get the want/need to look stylish but this is a wig, not a haircut, so unless you can afford another brand new hairstyle in the next 2 years, buy what looks good on YOU, whether that's bangs or layers or anything else.

I just ordered a new shaitel.
The lady was really surprised that I wanted some height in the front which evidently is totally not in style. I explained that I need what looks good on me.
I'm too old to worry about style. And to be honest I never really cared.

Flat and sleek. Flat tops. Sleek hair. Blunt cut cut the bottom.
Baby hairs not so much anymore for height. Just to control the hair.
For bangs - full, straight and flat. No baby hairs to give body.
For No bangs - Not angles. Just cut bluntly. Either hair just worn straight down. Pinned up. Using bobby pins or decorative pins. Or tucked behind ear

Wavy is also in, with blunt cut at bottom, no layers.
Dramatic highlights on blonde and light brown wigs (dark rooting).
Flat top, good natural flat hairline.
