My husband is a huge meat fan/connoisseur and he usually cooks all the meat in our house
I want to surprise him with minute steak for dinner and I did a lot of research-I'm very intimidated from him lol!
So here's what I did: tell me if it sounds ok and if you have any tips!
Took meat out of fridge to get to room temp
Rubbed both sides with olive oil salt and spices
Seared for two min on each side
Fried lot of onions
Put steak in pan with onions covered with water and now baking at 350 for the next few hour.
Does this sound good? I really want it to be soft and flavorful
ETA : no sauces cuz DH doesn't like it. He prefers the flavor of meat on its own, well spiced.

Sounds good. Maybe add a drop of wine. Makes it good and soft. Also minute steak doesn't need to bake for many hours. 2-3 is enough. Good to know for next time, I do not put any water when baking. I just put onions on top and bottom and it cooks in its own juice. Enjoy! I hope your surprise works out well and your steak tastes delicious!

Thanks. Yikes, should I try to pour out the water? Will it ruin it?
Also is 350 a good temp?

How much water did you put? How long is it baking already?

You only need about 2/3 cup water and to bake for 2 - 2.5 hours.
If it's already in the oven, leave it, but not for longer than that. You will need to add seasonings since the water has diluted it. But don't pour off the water if it's already been cooking it in, since a lot of the flavor is in there already from the cooking.

No wine, that seriously changes the flavor in a strong way. Add sautéed mushrooms to sautéed onions on top of steaks, add some onion soup mix on top and put an inch of water all around. Delicious!

Update: steak was delicious, husband was duly surprised and impressed! Yay me!
There was waaaayyy too much water though, like you all said, and also it wasn't flavored as perfect and I would have liked. You live and learn.
