I think I've guessed where you are, but I won't give you away. How about knocking it down with a broom, and then sweeping it towards the open door?

out of the 30,000 spiders in the world there are only about 12 that are dangerous.
in the US there are 2
1 black widow- black and shiny with a red hourglass on the abdomen.
2, brown recluse- brownish yellow, with a violin shaped marking on its body.
few people die from their bites if they receive medical treatment quickly.
england has no poisonous spiders at all.

White-tailed spiders can bite and cause lesions (if it's the ones I'm thinking of), so what about my broom idea? You can knock him down and he'll be stunned, and then you can shoo him out of the house. Don't worry, he's unlikely to attack and bite you.

ok I was brave! its now a squished pukey spider and is somewhere in spider heaven.
I was too scared to use the broom, I thought it might fall on ME!
gigi, white tail spiders bite and are painful, the whole area can swell up and many times a person needs meds for it. Its not fatal usually but some people who are more sensitive have to be careful. I think cortisone is used for it. It causes a leprosy type reaction in the place where the bite is.
Where I live there is a high concentration of poisonous animals and insects!

Good for you. He was probably depressed, anyway.

Wow! That's brave of you!
I haven't come across poisonous spiders, but we have scorpions in Israel. I don't have the guts to kill them. I call dh to come deal with it sos.
