I'm not surprised at the blind faith many put into every statement of Chazal. While they had ruach hakodesh, they also talked about many things that were contemporary issues that were not specifically based in halacha. Like JoyInTheMorning spoke about medical issues.
I always find these discussions funny because I don't agree with any of these gender stereotypes. I am a math/logic person and am no better of a caregiver than my husband. We each have our own individual strengths and weaknesses. I think the stereotypes serve no purpose but to serve the people in charge.
