Traveling to Miami with a baby.
Will Uber drivers/ cab drivers be strict with a car seat?
Do I need one or not?

If you want your baby to be safe, you need a car seat. A lot of car seats can be buckled in without a base; look into it.

When I went to Miami with a baby I brought along a Doona. It was great for whenever I needed a stroller or car seat.
My baby grew out of his Doona already, so Id be happy to lend it to you for your trip. Im located in Lakewood.

Most Uber drivers allow you to hold the baby in the car. But def safer in a car seat. Enjoy!

I’m specifically asking if the drivers will make a problem.
I know a car seat is safer.
Thanks for the doona offer but my baby won’t fit

Is your baby 2 already? They sell very lightweight portable car seats.

I don't know what the drivers you get will allow, but I'm pretty sure it's illegal to not have a baby in a carseat in a car-type vehicle.

The law does not allow them to drive without the child in a car seat. Can you find some drivers who don't care and will do it anyway? Probably. Why wouldn't you want your child safe in the event of an accident though?

I’m going to be blunt, because your baby’s life depends on it.
Yes, you need a car seat. If you’re in an Uber holding your baby and you get into an accident, your baby will go flying out of your hands, because basic physics.
It’s not a question of a car seat being better. It’s a question of taking your child’s life in your hands, and I’m shocked a mother would consider that.
