Mazel Tov! Lots of nachas?a Usually the hall manager will reveiw with you a schedule and ensure the wedding runs according to pre arranged wedding plans. Alot will depend on minhag, if you do a large shmorg, kabalas panim, split meal or full meal, dessert served at meal or dessert bar at dance break, mitzva tanz etc.

Are you using a standard wedding hall. They have a schedule they follow with a manager who gets things moving when they should.
The length of time should be in hall contract. And band. And photographer.
Most weddings are 5 hours. Anything over is extra.

If you are using a non jewish hall then it may help to hire a wedding organizer who will do the schedule and move things along and act the manager.

When our first DD got married, her chosson, our son in-law, made a schedule for the day of the wedding that included what times each woman has hair and makeup done, got their pictures taken, etc. This way everyone had their schedule in writing so that there would be no questions about who, what and where.

The wedding hall should work with you to create a schedule.

A large part of the schedule also depends on the amount of guests that you have and the venue. You have to take into account the moving of people from room to room, after the bedeken and then again after the chupah. (and possibly for a mitzvah tanz) That takes a bit of time and depends on the amount of people that you have and the lay out of the hall.
