I decided to splurge and buy spare ribs for a special occasion.

I followed a recipe-covered meat in a sweet sauce,and baked on 300 for 2 hours.

They are tough as anything and chewy!!! Crying Crying Crying Crying

Any advice? Can they be fixed? What did I do wrong?

Maybe try baking longer? Also was the meat imported? Imported meat tends to be more tough.

I would add some water and simmer for awhile. I do mine on the stove, and it takes longer than 2 hours. Did any of the meat fall off the bone?

Cook it for longer. If it was imported meat it makes sense that it's tough Sad

Add a drizzle of oil, make sure there is some liquid on the bottom, and cover and bake 1.5 more hours at 325.

Hi all thanks so much for your answers. I baked it for another 2 hours and it was much much better. Not perfectly soft, but a lot better. Also, all the meat fell off the bone, not sure if that was supposed to happen.
And yes it was imported.😥 Guess I won't buy that again.
