Looking for a new cell phone and plan. I only really need talk and text and don't care if its a smartphone or basic phone.
I'd like to pay cheapest possible but for service that actually works. right now I'm on a sprint plan but I have no service in too many places so I need a new one.
after searching online, looks like cricket is cheap and good. is that true? any specific phone I should avoid or actually get?
thanks!

We love cricket. No international calls though. But service is excellent and for 2 phones unlimited wifi almost unlimited data unlimited talk text 75 dollars is good.

Twigby is great and very cheap but think it's on a Sprint network so not sure if that will help you

I'm very happy with Cricket but I do have to admit that there are places where I don't have service. Usually doctor's offices, for some reason.

I switched to Mint almost a month ago and have been very happy. I am on a trial but afterwards, the plans are like $15-$25 per month depending how much you prepay. This is for the cheapest option which is unlimited talk and text, 3GB data which is more than I need.

The service will totally depend on where you live and go. The same service can be awesome for one person and horrible for the next.
That being said I love my red pocket plan. I have it on the at&t network, but it will work for any network. They have great cheap plans.
