Hello Ladies.
We are considering Rambam Mesivta and MAY for HS. We are looking for a school with good limudei hakodesh and good secular education.
Can anyone tell me how these two compare in terms of hashkafa? (besides for Rambam being a zionist school)
Are the boys in both schools mostly modern orthodox or is MAY primarily more to the right/yeshivish? Does Rambam have very modern crowd?
thank you

Rambam is more modern, and I would say probably has a better secular education. Rambam will employ female secular studies teachers. MAY does not have female teachers. Lately MAY has been having trouble retaining good secular teachers. MAY is a warm.school, that really tries to make the kids feel good about themselves, and they do take the input of parents seriously. Most students from both schools continue on to college. Students from MAY are encouraged to go to YU, Landers, or Queens College. Rambam graduates will go to a wider selection of colleges.

There is no dorm that in aware of. There is a van for boys who commute from Brooklyn and Queens. There were a few occasions where a student would board with a family.
