We were just approved retroactively from November. Does that mean If I went to an urgent care they can bill and maybe get back my money? What about meds?
Does it cover dental? Who takes it in Lakewood area. What a out vision? ADHD meds need preauthoruzation?
Anything else I should know?

Retroactively is probably only straight Medicaid not the hmo.
It basically cover only hospitals(possibly urgent care too but wont reimburse you if you already paid the bill)
Once you start HMO, you can go to dentist,optometrist and doctor for free( chemed takes almost all, but you'll have to figure it out as you ho along depending on which hmo you have!)
Rules and benefits are different for adult and children!
Vision covers exam and $100 towards either contacts or glasses.

Your letter of approval should tell you that.
Usually they send out card right before month when it start being active.

The first of the month following if you added the HMO before the 15th. In other words if you got your HMO added to your account by yesterday then your HMO will kick in on 2/1, otherwise not until 3/1. Call NJFC and ask them where you’re holding. The HMO cards get issued on the first of the month that your plan is effective.
ETA I’m pretty sure it’s the 15th
