I don't have an iPhone/smartphone

My kids are always begging me for music and the house would be so much more upbeat/lively with it. I was thinking of getting an ipod and downloading music to it and connecting it to a speaker, but I don't think they make those anymore. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Your help would be much appreciated by both myself and my kids!

Thanks in advance!

I've been thinking of getting the Naki radio. Maybe your family would like it too.

Anon bc it will give me away
Jooki - check out their site for how it works
It's being sold new here on this reselling site.
Use the link to sign up for $10 off and it will be $118 shipped
https://merc.li/GgQb3WEwb

(I've used the site, it's legit. And I have the jooki)

This vs the naki is in my opinion ages. A toddler can manipulate this and you can control the songs so they have their favorites over and over again. It's not a huge pain to load it either btw, it's all thru wifi so your phone automatically connects to it and you can upload straight from there, or thru computer

MP3 players are cheap. I bought each of my kids for $25 on amazon and they really enjoy it. They have built in speakers so they can listen as is, plug into speakers, or listen on headphones.

I got the naki radio for this reason. The smaller version. It’s not exactly what I had in mind. I didn’t pay enough attention to be specific but there are very few music stations. With mostly old unfamiliar music. And the stories are told by a person. Not like a story tape.
Anon cuz I know I’ll be bashed but I wish someone woulda been honest before I spent all my kids Chanukah gift money on this item.

If you have a laptop or tablet that you can put in your kitchen or den or wherever you can easily get music with Spotify or amazon music, or even one of the online Jewish music streams

Google music with a google music home speaker. The speaker us extremely clear. You can create custom playlists and just ask the speaker to play your playlist. No other devices needed.

We have one (regular clear one) in the living area, (mini's not such great sound but giod enough for smaller rooms) in the basement and in both kids rooms. Its not expensive. We got one as a gift others we bought.

Okay. This was a big issue in our house and I turned it around 1000%. Now I feel like we're at a simcha the whole day.
Welcome to the world of Kol Chai Music. http://kcm.fm/ It's a Hareidi station out of Israel, and they've introduced a music stream. You can either just stream it live from a laptop, or we decided to buy the Sonos music system. There's a small speaker that sits on my kitchen counter - so DH (music professional) isn't unduly bothered in the other room, and we can control the sound on the speaker. The music is SO MUCH more relevant, modern and lively than some of the American frum Jewish stations. The kids and I LOVE it and it's made the house so leibedik. Try it.

Anon as I talk about this all the time. Check out the KFC link just to see pictures of happy looking religious men. It's a rare thing media wise. We normally tend to see ourselves either as one big black box (aerial view of a funeral) or a black hat.

Here's the sonos speaker:

Naki radio !
I used to use Spotify on my phone but was not so comfortable around my kids because there are ads.
We had an IPod with speakers that broke and I never bothered replacing it because actaully getting all the songs on it takes forever.

I bought the Naki radio Chanukah time and my kids listen to it constantly .
