My 2 year old has not been sleeping. I started using Melatonin to get him to got to sleep but he is up half the night and wakes up early. (he does not nap during the day).
Any suggestions to help him sleep?

What does your pediatrician say? If he's a typically developing child, I would start by running blood work.

What's he doing to release his energy throughout the day?

Mine is like this too, and she is jumping all. day. long -- definitely getting out energy.
Trying to cut out naps, to see if that helps (she has to nap in school, but she was off Friday, and went to sleep Friday night at 7:15!!! through the night too, without a nap, so I thought I had the solution. But she didn't nap on Shabbos or Sunday and it wasn't as smooth the other nights. Sunday night she went to sleep 8-ish which is still early and decent for her I suppose but she woke up twice in the middle of the night, and the second time went into my bed and I saw she was awake for like an hour and a half just staring into space and not able to fall back asleep....)
Would love a magic solution too

You've done basic bloods to rule out anemia/ lead poisoning?

We've done bloodwork before, everything has come up normal. We are doing another set of bloodwork, for something else but it covers pretty much everything.

I have one of those too, just turned 2 not too long ago, and drives us nuts. He still needs a nap, but often it happens too late and then he is impossible to wake up before 2-3-4 hours even. Then he goes to bed 12-1-even 2am sometimes. It helps a little that I'm on maternity leave so I'm home and can stay up with him, but this is not a long term solution. Makes matters worse that he insists on sleeping in my bed and we've tried everything to change this habit since he was 17 months old and climbed out of his crib

Does he seem to be agitated when he wakes up? Did you check for pinworms?

No, but thinking along those lines he might be constipated.
