TIL the reason why it's hard for some people to speak up when they feel violated or uncomfortable; their speech section in the brain shuts down. They literally have no ability to speak, as does everyone else when they're in danger. Some people get triggered in situations that others don't, and that causes them to activate their fight/flight response so they can't talk.

TIL that some people have such dirty minds that they get grossed out imagining all sorts of salacious goings-on when a frum couple books a private swimming pool.

my question is: if imagining things gets you so grossed out--why are you imagining them? I personally assume that when a frum couple books a private pool, it's because they want to go swimming together. Some folks hike, some kayak, some play tennis, some ride bikes, and some swim.

TIL that the bundt pan was invented because a Jewish women's group came to the owners of Nordic Ware in the 50's and asked them to create such a pan for making a traditional cake (I forget which). The pan was made, but no one bought it, so it sat on the shelf until 1966 when a random housewife in Texas created a chocolate lava cake using the bundt pan.
Everyone became obsessed, the pans flew off the shelves, and it's been a hit ever since.

The creator of Tofutti is a frum man who was frustrated that he couldn't have ice cream after a meat meal. The other parve ice creams on the market were not very good, and he thought he could do better. The chocolate favor is the best of the bunch, IMHO.

Another fun fact. He proposed to a friend of mine. He's a billionaire! He only wanted to visit Israel though, and she wanted to live there full time, so they couldn't make it work.
