Who are you going with, and what ages? What do you all like to do? We enjoyed visiting the nearby NASA Johnson Space Center, science museum, and children's museum, as well as a day trip to Galveston.

NASA is definitely something you can't do at home. Parts may go over the little one's heads, but most kids love rockets, and there's nothing like seeing the original Saturn V. The children's museum is extremely well-done and will be perfect for those ages.
We really enjoyed the Museum of Natural Science as well, which is the #1 rated activity in Houston on TripAdvisor, but check the exhibits and IMAX schedule to see if your kids will appreciate it.
In Galveston, we went on a cruise to see dolphins, toured a really cool old mansion called Bishop's Palace, and went to the Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Museum, which was also something unique to the area that you can't do at home.
Also forgot to mention that Genesis Steakhouse is a wonderful fleishig restaurant, and we also enjoyed Saba's dairy restaurant. Hope that helps!
