Besides biltong and affordable household help! What has been hard to get used to, living in the U.S.?

(My dh is from South Africa. His parents keep encouraging us to settle there; they say the safety situation is much better now. I think the culture is very different from what I'm used to. I'm trying to consider the positives we might gain from moving there vs. staying in the U.S.)

They were saying a lot of improvements were made, but of course it's all relative.

My in laws, still in SA, told my husband if he ever left, to not go back as the country has been going to pot already for a few years.
The security situation has definitely not gotten better.
We know people who have gotten killed, in their own homes, for silly things, think purses, computers etc. Thats no way to live, but many stay as that is the only life they know.

My husband misses so much. Whenever he goes back he brings back chocolates, billtong and other assorted meaty things, clothing many times as he loves the quality of it.
And I love the chutney (which we have here in Israel, but I love it from there even more Smile )
