So far they all same out sweet/cake like. I want to make a good fluffy challa. Is that doable in a bread machine?

600g flour
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup sugar
1.5 TSP salt
1.5 cups warm water
2 TBS dry yeast

I do this every week, using my pizza dough setting (45 min dough)
I let it rise for another hour or more then braid and egg, rise again in a warm spot then bake.
Fluffy challa every week BH. But the warm long rise is essential.
Good luck!

Anyone that knows baking and can let me know: what if I add 1/4 c flour and reduce the sugar to 1/4 c?
1/2 c sounds like it’ll be too sweet for me

Do you use bread flour or a/p? Bread flour contains more gluten which helps make it fluffier than regular flour.

Are you looking to bake it in the bread machine?

I mix my dough every week in the bread machine but shape and bake in my oven.
It makes 3 really delicious challahs.
I also use 1/2 cup sugar.

I used bread flour. But I wasn’t as fluffy as my usual 6lb recipe

6.5 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 T salt
1egg
1/2 cup oil
2 cup water
1.5 T Yeast

It is based on this recipe
https://www.imamother.com/foru.....47972

It is a bit dense - not that very airy challah.
