I need to find a dentist for myself. I haven't been in ages & need alot of work done (I am not, currently, in pain, B"H).
I do not do well with dental work. It is not a gag reflex but I feel like I can't breathe when they are working on me (even during a cleaning, sometimes). The only time I didn't have this issue (or at least it was MUCH better) was when I used a dentist that was willing to give me nitreous (sp?) oxide (I.e. laughing gas). It didn't do anything, initially, but then he upped the concentration and I was able to relax.
Unfortunately, we no longer live anywhere near that dentist. When I've asked dentists around here in the past, they've mostly laughed at me, thus my lack of dental visits.
Does anyone know of a dentist in or near Lakewood that would willingly (not begrudgingly or meanly) use gas for an adult?
We have United Health Care, and can't really afford to pay out-of-pocket (like I said, I need ALOT of work done).

I have the same issue. Use Rotem Dental in Toms River.

Thank you! I checked out their website & it looks great. Do you know if they take insurance? Do you recommend a specific dentist there or are they all good?

Dr. Rubinstein in Howell. He is very good and will give you whatever you need to relax.

I finally spoke to both of these suggestions. Turns out neither takes my insurance (United Health Care, Community Plan). Any other suggestions?

Try calling your insurance. Or going on their website/app. Often they're will be a chat feature ask them to help you find a dentist that will help you

Do they deal well with the anxiety piece? Will they use gas on adults?
