I'm looking to purchase a smartphone. I'll be using it for talk and text. hardly anything else. the only reason I'm asking here is because I'd like a good decent camera too.
I'm thinking to spend tops $400 on the phone.
can anyone recommend a good camera smartphone in that price range?

Google Pixel 3a would be perfect - amazing camera, and there have recently been deals for $300 or less. You could also get a Samsung Galaxy S8 or S9, which you should also be able to find for under $400, and both have excellent cameras as well.

I just ordered a samsung galaxy s8 on ebay for 300 bucks!! I am super excited about it - it has a fabulous camera (I'm a photographer so its important to me)
(just make sure that you are buying a brand new one and not a refurbished one) check it out
